Call for Entry: Common Thread
Fiber Club* plans to exhibit contemporary fiber art with positive, engaging, and inspiring messages in University of Michigan's Gifts of Art Gallery. Common Thread is a 2-1/2 month long group exhibition showcasing artworks in a space of care. Priority will be given to Fiber Club* members, fiber artists/fiber art, and people within U of M's medical or patient environments. The aim of this show is to spark creativity, inspire hopefulness, and to promote outlets of making through fiber.
Both 2D and 3D artworks are welcomed. Artists are encouraged to submit multiple works.
Entry Deadline: Extended to August 23, 2024
Exhibition Dates: December 16, 2024 - February 28, 2025
Photo Requirements: One high resolution image is required. Up to two detail images are allowed for each work submitted. Photos are used for exhibit planning and promotional purposes.
Artwork Specifications: Review artwork specifications for dimensions of 2D and 3D display areas, plus hanging and display requirements.
Fees: A non-refundable entry fee of $10 is payable via PayPal, Venmo or credit card upon submission, and covers all pieces of work submitted.
The fee is directly applied to costs of presenting the exhibit. A discount is available if the fee is a barrier to participation. Please contact fiberclubexhibits@gmail.com to request a discount.
Inventory Form & Participation Agreement: If your work is accepted, you will receive an acceptance letter along with an artist packet that includes a participation agreement and exhibit inventory sheet that must be completed.
Sales: You may sell your artwork or include it as NFS. Gifts of Art receives a 35% commission on any artwork sold from the exhibition.
